Homage to Ballet – A Night with the Stars

The absolute top ballet stars recently performed on the stage of Theater 11 in Zurich: Hommage To Ballet event: Polina Semionova, Iana Salenko, Anna Ol and the Stuttgart superstar Friedemann Vogel. All thanks to the effort of the organizers – Sarah-Jane Brodbeck and Katharina Lips, who have put this ballet gala together with a lot of passion.

Alongside choreographies by ballet legends Hans van Manen and Roland Petit, there were contemporary pieces by the younger generation: Arshak Ghalumyan, Alexander Abdukarimov, and Lucas Valente. Some of the pieces were from classical ballet; others were innovative interpretations.

For the first time, an interactive social program to promote dancing for all was offered: an open class with Anna Ol, a choreography workshop with Arshak Ghalumyan, and a dance introduction for dance-curious adults/seniors with Clare Guss-West. 

The music of the Swiss music newcomers of the year, Mixed Flames, accompanied some ballet pieces, making the performances even more exciting for spectators to watch.
